you need to check the definition of angle, what it means for 2 angles to be congruent, and of course, what is the meaning of adjacent angles

If Perpendicular lines meet, they form right angles (def. perp)

If two angles are right angles then they are congruent (theorem)

If perp. lines meet then they form congruent adjacent angles (transitive)
