The Greek islands are amazing - fly into Athens then go island hopping. We wnt later on in teh season - mid Sept, when it was a great temperature, busy enough to be entertained, quite enough to not be too mental! Really cheap, good food and wine, lovely people, very relaxing but good places to see if you want too. Absolutely the best holiday I have ever had. Tunisia and Morocco were both good too - definitely interesting but a bit more scary. But if you really don't want to do a typical summer in the sun, go to Orkney - one of the most fascinating historicalk sites in Britain, amazing people, fascinating places. You can go check out teh other Scottish islands too. Cornwall is another good one if you fancy staying in the UK - go watch or learn how to surf, wnader round quaintg wee teashoppes then go get drunk in the great pubs!

If you can afford it then visit southern Africa. A sunset cruise down the Chobe river in Northern Botswana, being a few metres away from a herd of wild elephants when they come down to the river to drink and bathe is an experience you'll never forget!

Don't know if you want to go short or long haul or what activities you might want to do or not do. I would recommend however as long haul, a safari in kenya and some time at the coast as well, the barrier reef in North Queensland , australia or for short haul, a city break in Paris.

Loads of destinations -all depends on budget, time of year and what you like doing. Are you an all inclusive and never leave the complex, or do you like adventure, sports.......?
Southern Africa is awesome, as is Europe (Italy) -You have decide as mentioned before when you want to travel. I love New Zealand but the height of winter isn't necessarily the best time to go.

If you can afford it, come to Europe, with the cheapest flight to Italy. Rent a car, and follow one of the tours proposed by the Lonely Planet Italy. 10 days absolute minimum, though.

Don't know if it is something different but Sorrento in Italy or anyway on the Ameria Coast, totally beautiful place, easy trips to Napels and Rome, I loved, they say you leave a part of your heart behind when you leave it. I certainly did.

Go to Tunisia. It's hot all the time, a lot like Spain but has all the African culture too, and there are lots of French speakers there so it's easier to talk to the locals.
