They do that a lot in my area. Yes, you wear a costume and the stores all have candy (unless they are stupid and want to alienate the parents). I am a big fan of door-to-door and I refuse to get scared into "trunk-or-treating" or heading to the mall every year.

We did go a couple years ago when it was 4 degrees outside and we had a great time, got lots of candy and we still hit up some of the neighbors.

Have a great MALL-oween!!!

Sometimes saleswomen dress up on Hallowe'en and have treats for customers kids so you might get a little but not a lot. Try going to a wealthy neighbourhood in some part of town with big houses or try apartment buildings. Just get used to the idea that trick or treating is an iffy subject these days with some of the activities going on like home invasion or people putting stuff into the candy etc.

Well you have to wear a costume! That's the point of Halloween. It is ok at the mall. I think they are stingey with their candy and once they run out they just put up a sign saying "out of candy". Like they couldn't buy more. And not all stores participate. The one thing it has going for it is that it is warm! Which is good for the little guys. Outside their is a better ambiance, more decorations, more people are into it, and more candy!!

It could be fun. I haven't done that before, but I've done something similar in a hotel complex my family was staying in over Halloween. Do you know for sure that you're allowed? If you are, I would definitely say costume. You can't trick-or-treat without one. I would assume the candy output is about the same. Good Luck!

i don't think people really trick or treat at the mall, maybe you have your clique meet up there, and you go trick or treating after!

Good luck!
