empty the birdbath. pour salt all over it evenly and let it set overnight. then fill with purified water if you have it and vinegar and let it sit for a couple of hours (probably a whole bottle of vinegar). pour about 3/4 of the water/vinegar out and use a wire brush....use some elbow-grease as well. spray clean for a few minutes, let it set dry overnight. then set hose in it for about 30 minutes while it is running. clean as a whistle, vinegar smell out and it'll stay clean for a long while because the vinegar and salt will kill bacteria that has formed in minute cracks. good luck and give your cat a hug for me.

Sprinkle baking soda and scrub with a bristle brush. Then rinse and refill birdbath.

Try simple green...or else regular dishwashing detergent, hot water and and elbow grease...always make sure to thoroughly rinse off! You might also want to get a home steamer...that works the best.
