to post questions on here asking how you should act in your life ? I find it such a sad state of mind that some people seem to live their lives by the answers posted on here.

Perhaps they don't "live their lives" by them but simply need to hear a few other opinions before deciding for themselves.
No-one has sworn to follow the answers they receive on Yahoo, but it fun to consider the options. It would be nice to think Answers affords us the luxury of canvassing a few strangers' opinions on life, rather like meeting at the water-hole and swapping ideas, opinions. Take it lightly, and not too seriously. It is not the law and it is not the bible!

Why do you return to answers if you think it is a sad state ? Some people do not have friends or family that they can get advice from, others prefer to get advice from strangers. There are some excellent answers given here.

i happen to use this site and i am not insecure. i think it is a very good source of information. of course, there are some bizarre questions and answers, but compared to some other websites, this one is pretty tame. i have gotten some very useful information about my home, products, pets, etc. oh, by the way, why are YOU on this site asking a question ?????
