Its obvious they "aren't ready to make nice" and their new "documentary" is evidence of this... I like their music but think they seriously need to cork it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but how does it look to all of the other countries when our own celebrities are bashing our leadership? True, the president has made mistakes, but they are musicians, they should make music. It's like a blind person saying someone is ugly. If they don't like this country, there are plenty of other countries to go to.

I think all celebrities should shut up about politics, issues, etc....I don't care what they have to say and most of the time they use their platform to be controversial it's just a publicity stunt to get them more press. Sometimes it backfires, but most of the time it works. This friggin' ladies have been in the news more than their music warrants just because they like to take un-informed pot shots at the President and the Fed. government. They can't defend what they are saying any way other than to say "We have the right to free speech".

If they have all the answers, why don't they run for office??? Because they wouldn't have a shot to win and their egos couldn't handle that!

personally dont care for their music, but then again i havent really listned. i am a big advocate for ress speech, but i dont agree with the dixie chicks, when they are speaking i just ignore them. It seems that lots of bands try to make themselves look better by being political. They think cause they make a political statement that a song is good, true sometimes, untrue others.

I think by asking the question you are basically giving them free publicity. If you like their music then just listen to their music, obviously you also like to follow the news related to them otherwise you would not be thinking they talk to much. Personally I do not care either way, they are famous, they talk. We are not famous and we express our opinions here for others to review and comment on. So we are guilty of doing the same things they are by talking about them as if we know them. Heck I do not even listen to their music let alone know what they are saying in general. I just plain do not care. Its a free country, people say lots of things I do not agree with yet I listen to them and make up my own mind as to whether it has value or not.

I say let em be, and if you do not want to hear their message, do not pay any more attention to them then you do when listening to their music.

Freedom of speech...it's in our constitution, so I don't berate the Dixie Chicks for that, but going to a foreign country and knocking our president...that's just bad manners.

I suppose they need the publicity to help the flagging sales of their latest cd. They make good coasters I'm told.

Its my opinion that anyone who is "in the public eye" has no "right" to be expressing themselves in public and beating their chest about anything!

They have the right to privately express themselves, but in the public, they depend on our "support" of them for their money..(mooches I what I think of all actors and singers).

If it wasnt for us, the public supporting thier "lifestyle", then they would be doing a dirty job in some coal mine, or mill like the rest of the population and no one would care one bit about thier opinion.

Now, having said that Bono is about the only one that I would give creedance to, because "he" is putting his money where his mouth is and "doing" something about Dufar and all the other African Nations. He makes several trips there to bring food and other necesities for the poor. He has a right to speak out...

All the other silly people who "hate President Bush" because of his policies...(As if the Muslims would let them continue thier "pampered life-styles), if they took over the World, right? I dont think so!).

They should all shut up unless they are actually doing something constructive about a problem with Society. Each of them is in a position and has the money to do something, but no, they would rather you or I do something with "our" money, though as little as it may be, compared to thier millions of dollars they hoard, and complain that something isnt "right"...

Shuddaya mouth up and git on wit the show!

I wish you well..

Jesse

i think people made way too big of a deal just because natalie said she was ashamed to be from the same state as dubya. everyone is entitled to their opinion and it was freedom of speech. how can someone call themselves patriotic when they are hating on someone for expressing their opinion on the president??? it's her right to do so!!! it's all of our right as citizens of america to question our leaders, just as it is our right to elect them into the office. i'm from texas too and i don't like it that dubya brought us into this war. i'm not ashamed to be a texan or an american, i'm proud of it!!! but bush has made a lot of mistakes, so i can see where she was coming from. it's a damn shame that somebody has to be condemned by people (who haven't got the right to condemn anyway) for what, five seconds of speech???

i'd say shut up altogether, but i liked their music and don't believe someone should give up their god given talent. people went overboard burning their cd's-i'd be angry too!!
