I have a notebook with a 10.4" screen and I love it. I have a Keyboard, mouse, and monitor (19") at home and work I use with it. When I am on a plane or somewheres with limited space the subcompact size sure is a nice feature, and the battery life is much better.
I have a 80Gb HD, DVD±RW, Wifi 802.11n, and bluetooth.It is very compact.

absolutely not. i've had two smaller laptops (have 15" macbook pro now) and the 11.1 and the 12 were just too small plain and simple. i always tell people to not go any lower than 14. best way to test it: go to bestbuy or wherever and get online on a smaller laptop for a really good while (20 minutes or so) and then go to a larger one....it'll answer your question in a heartbeat.

That is a really small screen. But it is all preference to you. When it comes to a laptop, sometimes smaller is better because it is easy to take with you. It certainly won't be a performance issue. If your eyes easily strain I'd say go bigger, but if not, and you want to be mobile with it, go for it.

It really comes down to opinion. Go wherever you're gonna buy it and try it out to see what you think.

11.1" screen for me is too small, I would need at least a 15.4" widescreen.

depends on what you're using it for.
is it 4:3 or 16:9 (aspect ratio)?

well, either way, it sounds like a smaller laptop, which
i'd generally recommend; its nice to be able to easily
bring your laptop to other places

1gig ram is plenty, 80 gigs rom is a sizable hard drive
- i own two laptops 12.1" (widescreen) and 15.1" conventional:
while i like the bigger screen on the 15.1;
i wouldnt trade the smaller one for anything
go small.

I would not advise it. It is hard to pick up stuff from the screen, even with normal eyesight.

That's pretty small. Don't get it if you are planning on doing anything with graphics - either creating them, or playing games that are very detailed.
