I don't believe that. I think there were always kids who started having sex when they were 11-13, only now they are less ashamed to admit it.

Yes because earlier it was the age of early and immatured marriages with little means of entertainment outside, hence it was only confined to sex not like today. Earlier sex was an accident after married life wherein both did not have much experience except that a type of satisfaction. Now kids are more interested in fun by playing sex for a change and avoid and complex of being the odd without any girl friend or pre-marital sex. Even the girls play this risky game leading them to desertion in good number of cases and commit the sin of bringing illegal children in this World.

Well my grandmother got married at 13-so my belief is that our grandparents were able to get married at a younger age because most around here usually worked on a farm and could afford to get married because that was the same pay as most adults were getting paid. I would just have to say the marriage age was alot younger and the 13 year olds having babies now would have been married having babies back then. Yes if your wondering my grandparents had a very happy marriage until my pawpaw died a few years ago (they were so in Love) Now days the 13 year old's are not mature enough to be married and have babies. The good old days were much harder on my grandparents and thus prepared them for maturing before time so to all you 13 year old's this is not saying you should go out and have a baby then get married stay little as long as ya can :)

I think it is worse now. When there were more families with only one working parent children were supervised more. Children are legally able to stay home alone at the age of 12 but many parents will leave them home even younger to save on daycare costs. Even 2-4 hours a day unsupervised when the know there won't be anyone around is plenty of time to make bad choices. there is no guidance or supervision. By the time they are 16 or 17 it's too late. They either have already started having sex or been free to live their own lives with out the knowledge or consent of their parents and won't the follow rules.

There are documents showing female children being married as young as 6-7 during the dark ages. Also It is believed King Tut, the boy king, also had wives before he died at a very young age.

The primary difference is that throughout generations, you got married and then had sex (or were burned at the stake for your crimes) vs. now days when everyone has sex anytime they want (kids as well as adults)

actually the percentage of kids who are having sex at younger ages has gone up because of 2 factors..

1 kids mature earlier sexually becuase of growth hormones in chicken and beef...
2 kids are alone more now than ever before.. since now more families have both parents working the kids are less supervised and more lonely - often turning to sex to fill a void

In the fifties when I went from 9 to 19. A a very few girls had sex. Boys claimed they did. But until girls stopped respecting themselves, few boys had MUCH sex. YOU DO KNOW THIS IS A SUBJECT THAT BOYS LIE ABOUT, RIGHT? Gloating and bragging about their sexual experiences is natural to the male of the species. Ladies, retain your self restraint and self respect until you are of a reasonable age

NO CHILD AT 11 TO 13 HAD SEX, UNLESS THEY WERE MOLESTED..

We weren't ashamed, we were smart enough to know that's where babies came from and we enjoyed being young too much.

I dated from 13 on, steadily, going steady with 3 different guys, for a year at a time. We were busy being teenagers. Going to the beach, drive ins, parties (not getting drunk and doing drugs) Just dancing, listening to music, and having friends and fun. Of course making out.
And using self control.

I married at 18 and my wedding night was the first time I had sex.

If you look at the progression of time, sex instruction will begin in kindergarten before many more years pass. WHERE HAS CHILDHOOD GONE?????
IT IS FRIGHTENING.

Sadly enough young people today, with more sex education than we had and more birth control, are actually MUCH MORE CARELESS.

Yes, most definitely and it is sad. The dangers of sex are not reversible. I know you can say where a condom but not all condoms protect against HIV,but also most kids don't wear them. I also don't think kids realise that sex is very complicated . It complicates a relationship. Sex should also be with a special person NOT EVERYONE YOU DATE. We need to educate our children to abstain but if not to protect themselves.
