In this case, Sony is the OEM. Dell is the rebrander and is responsible for service, warranty, and parts.Sony makes the parts, Dell does not "make" anything. They only assemble.

OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer. You have answered your own question .

the manufacturer produces OEM products, these can be relabelled by a reseller or left as OEM
