I am a former basketball coach so I would say you are 16 prob in the 10th grade. If this is your first year then I would say that Basketball is a building block and the skills it takes to play start at a much earlier age than 16. If it were baseball that is a sport you can sometimes pick upa little easier. But hey know what Michael Jordon was cut off the High School basketball team so just know it's possible. Practice hard, don't be lazy and give 110%. Good Luck!

hey dude,

i played in highschool too. starting my freshman year and until senior year. freshman year i just barely made the team. didn't get a lot of playing time. made a couple nice shots/passes. sophomore year i still barely made the team. still didn't get a lot of playing time but really made a lot of nice shots whenever i had the chance. junior year was when i soared. i made the team and played most of the time and was either 3rd or 4th top scorer. senior year was amazing. i made the team and became a starter and was leading scorer in all of my games.

so... i think what i'm getting at is that, it takes time.

work hard.... and to the guy who said baseball is easier to pick up..... he is DEAD WRONG i play both and its a whole lot easier to dribble a ball up the court than it is to hit and 80 mph fastball
