I need information for a short story that I'm doing and would like to know what would happen to a vampire that took a shower? Could they burn? It's not holy water that they are bathing in, so I'd like to know if that was possible. Two, does a female vampire have a monthly?

Vampires are highly symbolic creations, so the fact they drink blood may also be connected with menstruation which is all about renewal & rebirth - you might want to look at the symbolism behind this as it could be a great source of inspiration for future stories.

Vampires don't need to have children to reproduce as they just bite, so they would not need to have periods etc. but there are no "rules" so what if ... (particularly if it was a half-bite that didn't really take so a victim was 1/2 human & 1/2 vampire). The possibilities are endless.

Vampires are not harmed by water, so a shower is fine as is swimming - they are probably not too bothered by holy water - it might sting a little!

I am a vampire hunter, so I have seen vampires do many things, taking showers, is not one of them. As far as PMS, vampires a cold-blooded creatures who seem to have severe political arguments which are cutthroat, and ruthless. Though I am quite sure that an undead abomination cannot have PMS, as their actual life-supporting organs have stopped, and I am fairly sure their reproductive organs have as well. They suck blood to drain the life energy a soul puts off, which allows them to 'live' despite being dead. Normal water does not effect vampires, though water I have blessed (I was an Russian Orthodox priest) has worked exceptionally well, amongst other things. So theoretically, yes, your short-story vampire could take a shower, but they're more likely to get showered by my Tommy gun, and then while they're weakened, will be ruthlessly put down by the real top of the food chain... yours truly.

I cannot imagine why a vampire could not take a shower, but It seems to me they would bathe in scented oils anyway, as for the monthly, that opens up a whole world of thought that I am not going to write about because I don't want to get a notice again, but I think you have carte blanche on that...you are the writer

Yes, a vampire can take a shower. They don't have BO, but they would have to wash off the leftovers from dinner.

When a vampire is created, their human body dies, along with all human functions. That's why PMS ans especially MS aren't likely.
Could you imagine? A pissed off vampire with PMS! That's just overkill!

I'm sure they can shower since it is not holy water. Women vampires are dead, so you have to hope they have neither PMS nor monthlies!

In those modern, submit-Anne Rice days, maximum persons seem to imagine vampires are those smart, good-searching men in fancy clothing. in spite of the indisputable fact that, the old thoughts, that are the source of vampire lore, continually let us know that vampires are hideous and absence in own hygiene. So no, vampires do not bathe. Vampire WANNABES, in spite of the indisputable fact that, not in basic terms bathe, they take lengthy baths with expensive soaps and creams. and they use cologne.

Make it up, it's only fiction, but you need to flesh out your characters to make them real to you, before you write the story. It makes a difference when you insert them into the novel. Let your imagination roam and decide what the V's are like and what kind of power and limitations they have. It is your book, so make up all the parameters, holding loosely to traditional believes on the subject.
