ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) or other organizations like that usually have a resource person that can tell you of local programs. The don't only deal with those that are mentaly developmentally challenged they also work with those that have physical limitations. I do not know off hand of a specific grant or government program, but do know that they are out there. Also check with the local American Red Cross as well as the United Way.

Good luck!

Talk to the Social Security Office in your area. Is your wife receiving Social Security Disability? I do not know how old your son is, but you should see about getting him into the SSI program, if you make 2 much money, maybe they will still help with medical equipment. You do not state what state you are from so this will be very general. In some states, when you are in a vehicle accident. (being crushed between 2 vans would certainly qualify), there is what is known as PIP (personal injury protection) and it will pay up to a certain limit for medical care and medical equipment that must b e bought to make the life of the person hurt as close to "whole" as possible.

Check with social services in your area, look for a program that assists disabled persons to live independently. I know we have such a program here in our state. Some are state assisted some are privately funded.
