Dangerous working with strut cars because you have to compress the spring then unbolt the shock SPRANG! If not done correctly death or injury could result! Sears auto center and many mechanics have wall mounted spring compressors with safety hooks and chains. I have seen even with good equipment springs get loose and hit a 20 foot high ceiling.

Besides the safety factor,you need the right equipment.
It's not something for a shade tree mechanic.
Also the allignment will need to be checked.

this is a good way to get hurt if you're not a pro. buy the struts & pay a pro to do it.
