Rub the entire outside of the pumpkin with vegetable oil (or PAM) and it will double it's life. It will survive long past Halloween.
Next year rub it with the oil before you cut it. I do mine about 10/15 and they are always in good shape for Halloween unless the neighbor kids get rambunctious.

Depending on the weather.....if it is warm where you live, it won't last long! Cold weather areas, it could last weeks. Pumpkins last longer if you don't clean them out.....just carve the face or use a permenant marker to make really great faces!

Coat cutting edges and inside with petroleum jelly(use paper towel for inside, less messy) or soakk in water over nite(restores moisture),put in cool shaded area during the day or keep in fridge over nite;there are sprays or dips you can buy to perserve your pumking at local stores that sell pumkins during Holloween.

Keep it outside on the porch where it is cold. It will last much longer out there.
