You click on your email account,click on your avatar,and you go to that main part.It should ask you if you want male or female,you can change skin color,etc.
If this doesn't work,Yahoo!Search "Yahoo Avatars"It might ask you to log in,log in,and it will probably take you straight to the site.

Sign into Yahoo Mail and before you click the button to check your mail, click the thing with the picture.
