a few things to try....today lay low and rest....apply ice packs to the area that is painful...15 minutes on 15 mins off. Also take some anti inflamitory such as motrin, 800 mgs. tonight start alternating the ice packs with a heating pad. If it is just a sprian you will begin getting relief. Do you have pain in your butt or down your leg??? If you do, that is a very good sign that you make have bulged a disk, and it is pinching your sciatic nerve, which may calm down on its own with the same treatment. If this is the case you can lay on your stomach on the floor and push up with your hands as far as you can and hold for 5 seconds, do this as many times as you can threw the day. You will want to go to your doc and consider an MRI to see what exactly going on, physical theripy or eventually surgury may be needed. I would just go for bed rest and the home remidies for the weekend, don't do anything that may irritate it further, and call your doctor on monday if your still having a lot of pain. GOOD LUCK!

Get thee to a doctor sweetheart. My guess is a sciatic nerve is acting up. Why do some people insist on "cracking " their back, stupid.
Try heat, sometimes cold, whatever works for you. He's going to order X-rays to start with then most probably CATS, the new deep scans are good but expensive, hope you have insurance.
He'll go from there, good luck.

You might want to see a doctor; I had the same thing happened to me on my ankle. I went to the traditional chinese medical clinic which specialized in broken bones, legs, twisted ankle etc., After a couple days later, the pain was totally gone, and I was back to normal.

If the pain is shocklike and seems to shoot down your leg, it may be the sciatic nerve. Get to a doctor.

Stop wasting time and go to a doctor. If you did something serious, you need to take care of it with a professional. No one can diagnose you online.

Take some strong tylenol and use a heating pad. if you feel any sharp pinching sensations it could be nerve damage if so go to the doctor immediatly. if the tylenol and heat don't work also go to the doctor.
