I've heard that gargling with Hydrogen Peroxide can nip this in the bud. Also, listerine when swished and gargled can help a lot. If you are drinking a lot of coffee or soda that can leave quite the masty coat on your tongue. Try to drink a lot of water. If none of these work, if you have insurance, go ahead and see a dentist. Sometimes bad breath comes from a bad tooth.

Try your dentist. Even if you brush your teeth 2-3 times a day you will still probably get cavities and they smell bad. Do brush your tongue (at least the front half of it, you won't puke unless you shove the toothbrush all the way back), and do floss -- you might have gunk in between your teeth. Try that fluoride-based mouthwash Plax.
Try the little crystal-breath capsules -- Boots usually has them. Take two a couple times a day and it keeps the bad stomach smell from coming up.
Stop stressing. Stress causes bad breath too.
If after all that you still have dragon's mouth, see your GP.

This could be an important metabolic disorder, not yet diagnosed.
Diabetes often causes smelly breath, but there are probably many conditions, from trivial to severe, with the common factor of bad breath.
However:
Bad breath, and migraine, and stomach upset, and feeling a hangover in the morning after eating cornflakes with sugar last thing at night would suggest an excess of candida albicans.
One of my acquaintances lost 5 lbs in 24 hours when he dealt with this problem. My own bad breath of many years was cured in less than 24 hours.
Your urine may also smell strange the morning after the cornflakes, especially if you use sugar. Yeast, such as candida thrives on sugar.
In this case, the cure would be to make your diet healthier e.g. no refined sugar, jam, white bread, cakes, biscuits, honey, marmalade, soft drinks containing sugar, sweets etc.
If you wished you could get caprylic acid tablets (trade name capricin) in a health food shop, and take them as directed on the bottle.

When I first started to brush my tongue, I would gag and almost vomit. The way you brush your tongue is (1) start with the front part of your tongue, immediately remove the toothbrush when you start to gag. (2) after the gag has gone away, then brush again and remove toothbrush when gap comes back. MY SUGGESTION FOR BAD BREATH IS TO SWISH VINEGAR AROUND IN YOUR MOUTH. You do not have to swallow it, and you do not have to gargle, just swish. If this does not take care of the problem see your doctor to see if you have a sinus problem.

You could try to use those Listerine Pocket Packs, they melt on your tongue and can help in getting rid of those germs.
Also flossing in between your teeth can help in also stopping cavities. Also a medical check up is always a good idea to check for any unknown intestinal issues.

I really feel for you! it must be horrible. Listen, as far as i know, bad breath is caused by one of 2 options. 1, bad diet! do you eat well? do you eat healthy things? veg? fruits? do you eat at all? it really does affect it, so maybe you should look at your diet. 2, mouth hygiene do you brush your teeth regularly? do you floss? so damn important. If it aint none of these, you should see your doctor, it could very well be a medical problem.

There is a possibility that you may need to have your tonsils removed as they can be the cause of bad breath. So you need to see your GP about this issue. All the best :-)

cavities or infections of the gums can cause bad breath.Problems with your stomach can also be the cause of it.
Not to cause you any alarm, but a friend had stomach cancer and his doctor told him that it's a sign.
