It is true in a sense that younger children pick up new ideas and knowledge faster but it does not mean that you can't try. It takes hard work and dedication. Children are a blank slate, so when they find new things to learn they will strive on learning it. You should too. I mean for goodness sake, you are only 17, its not like you are 71.

you are definetely not. i know someone who started violin at 28 and became a musician, he is now playing at an important philarmonic! thats rare ofcourse, he was extrordinarily talented and he worked hard, but the point is you certainly aren't too old to learn violin well. Don't forget that Nureyef started dancing at your age! and for dancing its much more difficult because the body structure is firm after an age. so go ahead!!!

My cousin studied violin at the age of 30++. She is already a doctor, a pediatrician that time!
If you really like it, then nothing is impossible. You are still young. Dont listen to what others say!
She usually performs at family affairs like the 40th Wedding anniversary of her parents & also at my sisters wedding! There is no age limitation when one wants to learn!

You are probably too old to get good enough to play Carnegie Hall but you are never too old to learn and appreciate an instrument. Go for it!

Yes. If you look closely inside every violin, you'll see a sticker that says "People under 17 only." It's a requirement.
