Denial is the biggest defense mechanism we have. Sometimes, even when the proof is in our faces, we still deny it. It's a way of protecting ourselves from extreme pain. I think that's the reason it's hard to see the truth.

yeah...I've been there. MUST move on for your own dignity and sanity. People can be so selfish and seeking of their own pleasure that they forget they may be hurting the person by not being honest. Maybe they think cutting it off would be harsher and more hurtful and so they act ambiguously and speak ambivalently so you're even more trapped and not know what to do--which is quit that relationship. It is psychologically proven that a person will more likely act in favor of a situation or person if the situation or person is unclear/ambiguous. So if you know inside he/she doesn't love you, then you know it's ultimately unfulfilling and hurtful to your soul. You know what to do, but you're scared to be alone or the consequence of breaking up (whatever it is to you). But be brave. It's nice being alone too.

Because love is truly blind and when you love someone you can only see the best in them. You can't make someone love you no matter how hard you try. You have to accept that they don't and move on. Sometimes this is painful but from experience it is nothing you can't live thru. Someone will come along that loves you as much as you do them. That's a promise.

sometimes we project what we want to be true, and believe it, even when all the evidence is to the contrary. sorry, it happens to us all! go out and find somebody that really deserves you!
