I think its because we dont want to picture ourselves as unlovable.
If we feel rejected, or unwanted, its harder to accept that its not about us, its about a lack of interest, which, when you get older you will understand that you cant help, people not being interested. Its not your fault.

Granted, you should watch your behaviors, your manners, the way you communicate with people and see if theres a problem stemming from there, than thats just on account of fixing the problem.

If someone did love you and doesnt any more, its not that they've never loved you, its that things change, they change you change and the feelings change.

Keep in mind that just because someone doesnt like, or love you, doesnt mean that youre unlovable, that its because youre bad. Its just a lack of mutuality.

Theres always someone out there for everybody, someone that sees who you are, and can respect and love that, i think finding it is worth a little bit of rejection.

It might be denial, or the loved one just won't be upfront about it.
