I signed up with an ISP back in March, used it for 2 weeks, then dropped it. I was billed all the way up until last month, even though I stopped using their service. I tried to contact them many times, but only got an answering machine, and no calls were ever returned. I contacted the company recently, and was promised a partial refund, but never got it. Who do I call?

1. FTC = Federal

2. If you used your credit card which is mandatory for this service, you must call you credit card company.

Put the matter in dispute with the credit card company, and they will fight for you....tell them when you dropped it, but they kept billing you....

The credit card company will stop paying them, but not until you call and talk only to the dispute department. Then they mail things to you and you provide proof to the credit card company.

3. Understand that ISP's never return phone calls.

4. You must be connecting by paying another service to connect, and that proves that you were dissatisfied with the first service....(AOL is notorious for not giving up credit cads, and they bought netscape and they did the same to me...so I asked the credit card company to dispute the charges.

5. Report the company to the state also...Attorney General's office. Report the company to as many people as possible.

6. The credit card company may issued an immediate credit and you don't have to pay for anything that is put into dispute.

Good luck, and warn as many people as possible that these companies are bad news when you are dissatisfied.
