i need some new heavy metal bands to listen to. can you give me some band or songs and, just cuz i'm curious, why do you like it?

i listen to guns n' roses, motely crue, ac/dc led zeppelin, chidlren of bodom, pantera, opeth, korn, iron maiden, kiss, ozzy, black sabbath, ratt, cannibal corpse, judas priest, dio, and that's all i can think of but i need some different stuff

Well I dont have 2+ hours to rattle off the bands I like, so what do you currently listen to?
Also by Heavy metal are you meaning the generic meaning or the true meaning?
Metal is broken up into about 30-40 sub-genres, and heavy metal is just one.
Ill list the most Famous bands for each genre.
Thrash: Metallica
80's Hair Metal: Bon Jovi, Guns N Roses, Van Halen, Motley Crue
NWOBM: Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden
Heavy Metal: Deep Purple, Led Zepplin
Grunge Metal: Alice in Chains
Sludge/Southern: Black Label Society
Grindcore: Pantera
Death: Opeth, Crimson Death, Death & Cannibal Corpse, Amorphis, Bathory
Nu-Metal: Korn
Gothic Metal: Evanescence (They are actually Gothic rock), but the bands sound similar.Of Note would be Lacuna Coil
Black Metal: Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir

If you never listened to Metallica's (80's till early 90's) songs you should try it (coz you didn't mentioned it)...just listened to their Master of Puppets,Creeping Death,Sanatarium,Seek & Destroy and many more...pure heavy metal songs! Try also Cradle of Filth,Slipknot (?),Nightwish (lady as vocalis),HIM,Trivium,Rammstein...If you want more brutal,Deicede,Mayhem,Emperor,Dark Funeral,Burzum,Dimmu Borgir...but they're not a new band though
