If I ever went to an HBCU or Black college, I would go to Howard Univerisity. They're located in Washington, D.C. and they have a pharmacy school and I think a medical school. Spelman is a good choice, too. Do your research and as you get older, like when you're a junior or senior, go and tour and visit some universities. Then you can make your decision then.

Have you considered Spelman? Although I went to "white" universities, I am really encouraging my children to take a look at HBCUs. Where else will you be able to be culturally at ease while receiving a top education? College is such a pivotal point in your life -- being able to feel at home and at ease without worrying about racism is a rare moment in time. We live in a multicultural world (thank goodness!), but it is good to pause and revel in one's own culture for a "minute."

We have researched several, and my daughter is interested in the rich history, southern locale and all-women's aspect of Spelman. Of course, the male Morehouse is nearby, so there are no dating worries ;)

Good luck in making your college decision, and congrats for starting now.
