values are hard to understand as being the same as the ones taught by Jesus.
Does anyone remember the Christian left when the word Christian is thought of..

I feel many of the Christian right support things Jesus would not approve of like more love for rich than poor//

hating people on welfare and forgetting that Jesus loved the poor and gave the workers who worked just an hour in his parable the same wage (benefits) as those who worked hard all day and we are to share and help others while they loudly express their hatred for people who they perceive are lazy and beneath them

//not valuing peace and deriding peace activists and trusting military over God for protection, no concern about dropping depleted uranium

//love big business and corporations despite its receiving far more tax dollars in corporate welfare despite its tax cheating, job outsourcing, environment destroying, political bribing, etc while having no problem with cutting 50 billion from social program

done apparently to offset the tax cuts), etc.

SO I want to know why do they ignore the teachings of the one they say they follow, do more people hate Christians due to Bush and Christian right and does anyone remember there are Christians on the left who disagree with them?

to further address some of your responses..you may call it a political rant, but I am genuinely wondering what the effort of Bush & his religious right supporters are on how people feel about Christians given the tendency to generalize. I speak with many young people & they totally HATE Christians saying they are intolerant, hateful, and judgemental. this bothers me as a Christian.
The reason I use the word hate is just browse through answers & see the hateful opinions expressed by the right about people on welfare whose individual circumstances are totally unknown to the person making mean judgements and in just one post about an antiBush protest, all 17 rep answerers said things like they hoped the ogrganizer is shot in the head, that all the liberals are shot, run over by trucks, imprisoned and tortured, exiled to dangerous countries, were called idiots, morans & other insults..one even goijng so far as to ask the question if people would go to the nationwide protests & shoot them

angle-I never said anything about america being the promised land-I'm afraid it is caopable of tremendous evil and greed..but Jesus did say to follow the laws and give to Caesar..which means to vote..sand since we have only 2 choices, we need to pick the one clsoest to the teachings of Jesus and that is the dem--are they perfect--far from it but they are better..to bets-I have noticed a decided and growing hatred for christians since Bush took office, so even thouh people have always hated other religions, there seems to be a correlation between Bush and supporters and the growing hatred of christians.
to the girl who said since they hated Jesus the world will hate you..Jesus was referring to those who followed his path for His names sake not those who are hated for their own beliefs and selfishness.

I barely think Stephanie's hatred is worth addressing, but I never said I don't have tons of sins and faults..I most certainly do and never claimed perfection and never does Jesus expect us to perfectly follow his laws..He knows we will fail and fall short. He was addressing a particular wealthy man when Hee made that comment about selling everything and how do you know how I live..I live frugally and in poverty and have never had, video games, cable, rarely get to travel, etc..I hardly think atheists understand the bible..your post was every bit as judgemental as you feel mine is.

queros..America holds about 300 million individuals for you to say none of them are Christians and all support what the government does is worng..I don't wear provocative clothing, I was faithful to my exhusband for 17 years, I am not for war, etc. You are certainly generalizing as much as peiople who judge all Christians as being of Bush and his followers ilk. Many Americans are against the war and do what we can as the little guys but it is not shown in the corporate media..don't believe everything you see on tv.

mr chuck, dems have plenty of values. It is just because the reps have a very narrow description of what they call values, defining it into two-antigay and prolife. Also 43% of dems are prolife and in disagreement with their party there.I could name of about 50 values dems have that you ignore so which party has more values is very subjective. When you add to the mix that it is made up of about 50% of all Americans who are individuals with indivual values some in agreeemnt with their party and some not, that further proofs your statement of this one party having values and all people in it more moral. Poppycock..I have met some of the most caring indivual dems and horrible, rude, mean, unkind, obnoxious, dishonest reps ever, so I strongly disaagree. As fasr as the parable, even taking your intepretation as correct. If workers agree to work for a stated wage and be taxed then they should be satisfied and not hate people who for whatever reason work less and get something they don't.

namely something free which they do envy big time..trust me, if these people who moan so loudly had to live in the poverty and areas these poor people so, they would feel compassion and not be so envious for having walked a mile in someone else's shoes. It is not always laziness that accounts for someone being poor or needing welfare just as it is not always hard work but often lucky breaks that allow the wealthy to be so..it is all wrapped up in pride and wanted to feel superior to others..thankfully, Jesus deeply loves the poor and He and the bible say so often so you are not superior in Jesus' eyes..indeed the Chrsitian right often shares much with the pharasses--the parallels are stunning.

as far as how the money is distributed..cutting 50 billion in social programs while turning around 3 weeks later and giving 70 billion in tax cuts to the rich was done to offset the fact that the rich who sacrifice neither money nor children to the war now even benefit while those struggling

2006-10-28 11:18:35 · update #8

and who actually send their kids to die now also most finance the war. This is so turned around, it isn't funny. Guess that was why it wass called the "reverse Robin Hood bill". We spend about 45% of our budget on past and present wars and the military..we spend about $13.00 a month per taxpayer for ALL social programs (food stamps, housing, medicaid, medicare, eduction etc) while spending about $4000 a year for corporate welfare. Where are your priorities, Chuck? It's like you spending your personal budget and giving 45% to karate and boxing lessons and tons more to give money to the rich people's yatch club while ignoring boyscouts for your child and lessons in sharing and getting along for your daufghter and help for your poor, aged mother and your destitute siter living in the slums..in other words all out of whack and nothing remotely like Jesus taught. Also abortions are up under Bush and were down under Clinton since 20% of all abortions are done for economic reasons. If

you really were prolife you would go with thwe party where 20% of unborn lives would be saved..statistics back up these figures. All your party has done in so many years of power in all three branches of government is use the issue to get votes whiole doing absolutley nothing about it. As far as gay people, look who Jesus hung out with the outcasts and sinners..you are not imulating hios actions but your own views. While discounting it may be genetic or environmental and that Jesus took our sins to the cross if it is a choice. Certainly you kep doing some of the same sins while expecting God's mercy..He does not play favorites.

the corporations care nothing for their workers as outsdourcing their jobs after years of service shows..if they could outsource service and toher jobs where they must have American workers, they would. It is you who have warped ideas as far as twisting what jesus taught us and I will stack my values against yours any day come judgment day..you will be judged for how you treat the least among us and by your love and the golden rule and what you do to others you do to Him..

I agree with you 100 percent. The Conservative Republicans claim the high ground on values and morals as their own. They consider Democrats to lack morals and have no values.
Yet they support the war in Iraq. They support pollution of our air and water. They drive SUVs that waste gas and pollute. They stay home while others fight and die in Iraq. They have Government jobs and in fact do not work to earn the pay the tax payers give them.
There are 60 million Christians in the USA and only about 15 million voted in 2004, that's 25 percent. Almost 51 million voted for Al Gore in 2000 we had a 42 percent turn out to vote.

Still working on the blog. had some problems with the server. Check back often. this fr Tuck is a real work of art. Never takes a Christian stand on any issue. Always takes a Republican stand. This could very well be Rush Limpwade in disguise. BTW, there are 1.8 billion who follow Islam. Many are in the USA. Would a Christian nuke them all and kill them all? I would not, that would be a act of hate. Only about 15 percent are considered by experts to be "radical" muslims. The brain washing starts with first graders, in Saudi Arabian schools. 15 of the 19 hi jackers were Saudis. The Saudis teach first graders that "every religion other than Islam is false". By fourth grade it progresses to "True belief means.. that you hate the polytheists and infidels but do not treat them un justly". In Isalm killing them can be just treatment. By eighth grade they learn of the many "condemable qualities of jews" In Ninth grade they turn to conflicts "it is part of God's wisdom that the struggle between the Muslims and the Jews should continue until the hour of judgement". The Saudi text describes the Crusades as the "origin of the clash between the muslims and the Christians". Bush calls Saudi Arabia "an important ally and a partner in the war on terrorsism".

People do not need a reason to hate. Christians are one of the many targets. liberals and conservatives and Americans and Mexicans and Jews and many other religions and races are all targets. I wonder why athiests are not hated.

there are many different religions in the world that believe in basically the same thing but in different ways. of course what ever religion you are that is the only right one. to me as long as you believe in the Lord and do right by others as well as yourself you have nothing to worry about. I think you are using Bush as an excuse because other religions dont like one another no matter who is the president this has been going on forever to me thats to bad because there is something in every religion that could benefit everyone.

I don't hate anyone, but the Christians voted for him and elected him twice and now that all the pieces are coming apart, they want a democrat, but the president is not elected by the popular vote, so they can put who they want in that position

Bush is NOT a christian.
The Lord loves those who are poor in spirit.
I think a lot of people don't like christians because so many people call themselves christians and many are the biggest hypocrites you would ever come across. Not to mention how judgmental and self righteous those people are.

As a general answer yes, many see christians as gun-toting rednecks, many of the policies of these people are anti-christian as are some of the policies of the democrats

but your argument falls when you talk about left and right, democrats and republicans. You fall into the same trap, as if God himself votes for your two parties, and swears allegiance to your flag in a nationalistic attempt to re-write the bible and call America the promised land

I had an issue with Christians before Bush and I will after Bush leaves office. My opinion of your religion and most people comes from more than one source. The simple fact that you are sitting on a computer with Internet connection is proof that you are not a TRUE Christian, Jesus did say give ALL of your riches and money to the poor, not give some but keep most. I think the only people who truly understand the bible are Atheist. My major issue is that people such as yourself preach to fellow Christians and Atheist for not being "Christian" or "Christian enough" Meanwhile you're sitting in your two story home on your leather chair, eating popcorn as you play video games with your high speed Internet connection. So much for being a true Christian...My advice is to stop lecturing ALL people. Most people can look at you and think of at least 10 things you lack.

Of course the Republicans have alot more Christian value than the other party that denies and wants to destroy those values.

And of course you twist the parable, which tells a person to be happy with the wage they have agreed to work for and not to want more because others are getting more ( don't envy)

And one has to balance what an econmony can afford. and they have no hatred since they have done more than many.

And yes for the protection of nations, we do have the military, those without it are called slaves of other nations.

And yes sadly without big business, those poor people you love would not have jobs.

You have a very warped idea of what is really happening.

unemployment is around 4 percent, lower than anywhere in Canada or Eurpore where they do many of the programs you say we need to do. Our economy is better than ever, yet you try to say it is bad. I guess just plain facts don't mean anytthing if you want to hate the other party

I do not hate Christians as I am one. However George Bush and his backers are not Christians. They look at the bible entirely different then true Christians, they use it as a weapon, a true Chrisian uses it as a life tool.
