Do you think he might change his mind on having troops there if he got some real experience into what it is actually like?

I think in two years, he can go to Iraq and be President over there since he's spent more money on Iraq than for his own country.

He went over there in June to discuss oil leases and long term operating contracts with the Iraqi Oil Minister, isn't that enough?

He's just "too precious" to serve in his own illegal conflict in Iraq. All he did was to send the crash test dummies to handle that for him, at the huge cost of over 2,700 dead soldiers! It's doubtful he's ever going to change his mind!

That would be really stupid. The president can't intentionally place himself in danger.
And no, I don't think he would change his mind. He listens to generals and enlisted soldiers who are there, not anyone else.

I would imagine it's the same reason Lincoln didn't fight in the Civil War, and Roosevelt didn't fight in WW2, and Johnson didn't fight in Vietnam, and why the first Bush didn't fight in the first Gulf invasion, and why Clinton didn't fight in Bosnia, Kosovo, or Somalia.

he doesnt have to, no leader wants to send his troops into harms way, just the nature of his job, believe me he does regret the loss of lives in this war
