You could try a community mental health center, they many times offer counseling on a sliding scale fee if you do not have insurance. Or try your local domestic violence agency, they also offer counseling services on a sliding scale or sometimes free basis. Good luck to you and God bless

Please look at your area churches. Alot of them offer support groups for divorced people-and you do not have to be a member of said church. Every one reacts differently after divorce and for me just filing the paperwork was the best therapy and soul enlightment. However, I have had friends who have attended such type therapies and have walked away with whole new meanings in their lives. Two friends have told me that it was regaining their sense of purpose in life from attending these meetings is what made them turn their lives around for the better. Keep your head held high. Things might appear difficult now, but when you are able to look at this experience with hindsiht, you will say to yourself "Things in my life now could not be any more better if I would not have divorced". Trust me-been there and done that.
best of luck

hey Woody I live in Maine, married twice, divorced twice, 5 kids, paid child support the whole gamut, I'm about as non-profit as it gets......email me any time. Those group things really suck, misery loves company, so called support groups ya don't leave there feeling any better than when you went in except you now know that there are a bunch of others that feel the same.....big friggen deal. I've helped others via the internet, telephone even traveled to other states in New England just to show someone I was for real....lol email is in my profile....what do you have to lose........

Try your county mental health office they will have the contact's that you need. Many groups run a notice in the news paper on Sunday's. Or try a church many are open to community groups for these types of needs, good luck, I hope you find the support you need.
