I swapped the sim card with my old phone and it seems to be working, I can make calls and receive them. Do you think there could be any other damage? My phone is already dead. And also I ordered a new phone by upgrade, I should be able to swap sim cards and it shouldn't be locked, right?

The sim card should be fine, there isn't any electrical parts in the card, just an id code. The wet phone however may be screwed, i reccommend using a hairdryer on the phone to dry it out, keep it on charge for a day and then try to turn it on again

Set the phone in the sun or in an air flow for a while. It might come back. The sim card is still good water will not harm it. I have dunked mine a couple of time while on vacation. Salt water. The phone came back for awhile and then gave up the ghost. Sim card was fine in the new phone and all my directory was intact.

The SIM card is very hardy and will survive a good soaking.

Don't give up on the phone. Take the battery out and place it in the air stream of a desk fan for a few days. It may well recover.

Your sim card is perfectly alright. The battery would have been destroyed but your SIM card will survive. If you are not sure, then you can test your sim by putting it any other mobile!
