"The 60-million-dollar funding shortfall comes just as the annual "lean season" approaches, when people have to wait until next March or April for the next harvest," a statement by the World Food Program (WFP).

We send millions every Year for decades on end and it's the same story. Isn't it time those people just move? Read the above article. If I had to wait until next March/April for food. "I would move"
What should we do with these people. Keep the same path etc..??

Yes, its insane that the European nations and the US have to be constandly running down to Africa to fix the problems they cause themselves.

Billions of dollars have been pumped in Africa and I very much doubt that its changed. All the money goes to the leader of the country of the time anyway. Whats the point? It never changes. Africa has poverty, it has wars, it has dictators, it has disease and unless the West uses every single unit of currency they have I doubt anything will ever change there.

Imagine if the West kept all that money that was wasted in Africa, those billions of dollars... we could've put all that money in something useful... finding cures for fatal diseases, cleaned up the enviroment which is really suffering, fixed up the homeless problem in our own countries, increased medical aid to our own people, etc.

Yes it is, long ago. All the billions have achieved nothing. Africa is still the same messed up continent that it is. I ask all those people who've said 'no' to your good Q: How much money must we pump into Africa or must we drain our own economies on a continent that has acheived very little ever (and no colonialisation is over long ago so thats a weak excuse)?

If we kept that money, think what we could be using it for (like above answer said)!!

Africa will always be what it is: 3rd world.

"Is it time we stop feeding Africa"
What kind of quesiton is that? The development of the African continent is the main challenge of the 21st century. I admit, money must be used more effectively. If you come to China you will see 'Africa, Africa, Africa' on TV and in the news...tourism, etc...
No, what a lame question. As the sole superpower on this earth, it is the USA's responsiblity to help Africa. Try spending less on your military (500billion/year) and investing more in Africa, business, infrastructure...
Africa is perhaps the last chance the US has to establish themselves as a benevolent force in the world today...
South America was raped in the 80s...
Asia in the 60s-70s...
there aren't too many places left in the world that the US still has a chance to help...
Africa is perhaps the last place in the world that the US still has the chance to serve as a positive influence. You're going to have to get started fast though, China is already ahead of you.
Too much involvement in the middle East on the part of the US guv, and not nearly enough involvement in Africa....where's there's a real chance to do something positive in the 21st century.
Americans do not know 'starving'...

Did you know that Africa is divided by race and class and that the anglos have taken over the richest upper portion of the country and the true Africans are suffering in the lower, hotter, more barren portion? These are poor people who have no where else to go. Genocide is prevail ant and people including women and children are being mutilated, raped, and killed on a daily basis. It's
easy to criticize what you haven't experienced. If you could would you take a trip to the portion of the country that is being helped and live there as they have to in order to know first hand what it's like to go days without food and watch your babies die from hunger and illness? The peace corps takes volunteers.

Yes, it's time to stop feeding African countries - you are not feeding the African people, you are feeding their politicians and warlords. Africa was prosperous in colonial days and suddenly after independence, it is broke. Why? Because the African countries are now ruled by corrupt politicians and warlords.
