english language became a global standard, nations speak it in their own way (accents, etc) and this is great, BUT when i came to UK i am discriminated by English people although they understand me and i speak fluent English !

they just focus so much on the way one speaks (English way) that a content seems to be secondary.

I didn't eperience this in US or Canada or anywhere

Try speaking French to the French and then come back and say that!

I think it's a shame they acted this way towards you. I wouldn't let it get to me. Who cares what they think and how they feel. It doesn't mean their right in any way. I think that's what makes us so unique here in the US. We all speak English over here, but we all have different accents from state to state in the US. Some of them over there think their way of talking is the best way. It's really a loa of crap. As long as someone isn't speaking bad slang then it doesn't matter. English is English, we all understand the same language when everything is said.

OK(american) I think I see what you are driving at. You certainly don't write perfect English though, I can more or less understand you. We here in the UK can be very pedantic especially when it comes to our language. I certainly would not discriminate against you because your (foreign) accent makes you difficult to understand. We have regional dialects in the uk which when broad are difficult for even nationals to understand unless they grew up with it. In print however, we like to see good intelligible English and as few spelling errors as possible. Yes I agree that some of the 'rules' for English spelling and grammar are very unclear and usage is what dictates the accepted norm(american)
even if technically incorrect. As far as spelling on its own goes,
others may have a laugh at your expense, but if it is close enough for them to understand, most will not be too bothered by
a few dozen miss-spellings.
The vast majority of us who have travelled abroad or had dealings
with foreign clients, can switch rapidly between an English and
american spelling and slang without being phased by it.
On a personal level if I met you on the streets of London asking directions and had trouble understanding you I would not be afraid
to ask you about the word(s)/phrase(s) that I did not clearly understand. I am sure that somehow we would manage to communicate perfectly well.
I offer you the following quote:
England and America are two freindly nations divided by a common language!
Here is a poem I like on this subject in dialect which you should be able to read perfectly well!

Bans a Killin

So yuh de man me hear bout!
