I am a clinical psychiatrist an I have a legal and moral obligation to protect the medical data of my patients/refugees.

I only use MSN Messenger to chat with other doctors. I found that Yahoo Messenger was alot easier to get hit with a virus.

I use Windows XP Prof. An I use a program that I know will scan your Yahoo Mesenger, because it scan my MSN Messenger and is state of the art technology and free.

http://www.avast.com Download their free home personal version. They will ask you for your email address so they can send you a free key that is good for one year. After one year you must renew your key. Their corporate version is the very same software they just make corporate pay. (I used this program an I have not had one virus in over nine years in my system, including MSN Messenger. This program will remove the virus.

Please note that you can only use one antivirus program, or you will have serious conflict with your system. You can use three or four antispyware program without conflict.

The program below will also remove malware, and there is no conflict with any antivirus program.

http://www.emsisoft.com Download their free home use version of A2Squared Malware V 2.0 They will ask you for your emails address so they can send you a free registration key.

The paid version I use has a background guard that scans in real time and will detect and destroy any spyware, adware, virus or rogue dialer. (I use ADSL, but like the added protection).

This company is out of Austria. The software is free of any embedded spyware/trojans.

Clinical Psychiatrist,

Excuse my english

Step 1. Uninstall u r messanger first.
Step 2. update ur antivirus (Norton latest version can be free downloaded from here

http://www.download-googlesearch.blogspot.com/

if not avbl ) and antispyware (Lavasofts Ad-aware, can be had free from the same site in just onepack)

Step 3. Reeboot into the safe mode.

Step 4. Turn of the system restore (to turn of the system , right click the my computer, go to properties, click the systme restore tab and chek the turn off system restore )

Step 5. Now scan ur system for antiviruses and the spywares. Had there been some spywares or the vruses which these will not be able to wipe up post the name of the viruses and the spyware specifically and a diagnose wud then be answered.

Its is hoped that this solution will work..

Best of luck!!!

I also had a virus in my yahoo messenger called sohanad.i.
I removed it using Trend Micro Internet Security.

I am not sure if free anti-virus softwares can remove it but trying it will be best.

1. Completely Uninstall Yahoo Messenger
2. Remove registries*
3. Download Bitdefender for yahoo messenger if possible
4. Download a fresh copy of YMessenger from www.yahoo.com or install an older version of yahoo
4. Then upgrade to new version

*Removin registries is a typical process & needs specific knowledge......

test inclusive of your anti-virus! if to procure a deadly disease from Yahoo Messenger, it tells me you're possibly no longer using a actual time virus scanner. if so, delete the anti-virus you have (in case you have one) and deploy AVG loose. the final loose anti-virus utility around. solid luck!

This virus only reads your friends list and sends an offline message example: you got a virus you can remove it by going to this website nsl-school.org. P;ease don't click this website or you will be infected by VIVA TERMEX. If you clicked this link given to you, you will get a virus...
