Yes, it is! Actually, miniature horses are being experimented with as companion animals - like the dogs you see accompanying a wheelchair bound individual. Because of their size and intelligence, they are wonderful in that capacity. The ones I've seen in articles have covers on their hooves so they don't slip on slick floors.

some individuals are easier to train than others.. I would start by getting one whose parents are trained... as a foal it would have grown up watching its mom plus it shows it has the genetics towards being more trainable...
keeping in mind walking on floors is very difficult and they cant do multiple stairs like a dog or cat can
having said that - horses are herd animals made to run... they prefer living in groups outdoors with shelter - however these animals DID not occur naturally in nature so GRAZING IS A NO-NO unless your grass is really poor quaility as miniatures founder easy
the really small ones are unnaturally bred to be small - its actually very cruel - many mares die in pregnancy or birthing.. their lifespans are reduced... I would stay away from the tiny ones for this reason (its supporting cruelty)

Yes it is. There was a show about service animals & it showed a minature horse being used as a guide horse for a blind man. It showed the inside of his house & how everything, including the flooring, was done to accomodate the horse. The horse had a special place for the bathroom in the house. It was very strange seeing the horse in the house but even stranger seeing it being a "guide horse".

I'm sure its possible.
I'm equally sure however, that it would be very bad for the horse. Horses (even little ones) need to be outside with a buddy and able to run around. Horses kept inside barns are at a higher risk for many conditions such as colic, and I imajine it would be the same in a house.... not to mention that it would be nearly impossible to keep a horse from destroying the house.

No but even if you could it would be cruel. His size is the only thing different about him being a horse. He needs to be able to run, graze, feel the sun on his back, roll in the dirt and do all the things normal horses do. He is not a dog that will curl up in the corner. Maybe you should consider getting a dog instead.

why on earth might you want a horse on your place?!!? a widespread horse could be too enormous. you could prepare maximum horses to do almost something and maximum horses left on their very own of their pasture will choose for one area to "do their business enterprise" in. yet for well-being motives, I strongly propose you to no longer attempt this project. Horses want area to flow and sparkling air and that they do no longer choose for to be heavily limited. they're happiest whilst they have a marvelous grassy pasture to stay in. they do no longer seem to be enormous canines, they have a very distinctive psychological makeup than a canines. they have minds of their very own and that they might't be ruled like a canines can. Horses are roaming animals via nature, interior the wild, they're consistently on the flow, they even walk as they eat, the wander around snatching a mouthful of grass here and there, they want a super form of workout. So please, in case you pick for something to stay on your place with you and be potty knowledgeable and all that, get a canines, they're lots greater handy and greater low-value to have. Horses merely are not made to stay indoors each and all of the time.

I am NOT going to discount the possibility, but I don't think this is going to be easy at the very least.
