The speed of light in a vacuum is 3 x 10^8 m/s.
The speed of sound depends on what it is travelling through. What we typically experience is the sound travelling through air. The speed of sound in air depends quite strongly on the temperature of the air. At room temperature, the speed of sound is usually taken to be 343 m/s.

light travels in space at - 3x10(to the power)8
light travels through a glass block at - 2x10(to the power)8
the reason for this is when light enters a denser medium it slows down and consequently refracts.
