How old are you? How long has this been going on? Your thyroid can cause problems with your body regulating periods, so first you need a thyroid test. Of course you also need a test for anemia since you are having periods twice a month. You need an exam to check for cysts or growths in your uterus, and a pap smear to make sure no abnormal cells are present. A prolactin test as well if you are having other symptoms but likely this is not the culprit. If everything comes out fine, you can take birth control pills to control your cycle and this will also help a lot with the cramping. Make sure at the very least your doctor runs a thyroid test before prescribing oral contraceptives..otherwise you are just masking the true problem. Hope it works out for you!

First you should see a doctor as to why you are having them twice a month. You dont state your age so I can only say its not normal if your young . When I was in my 20's I had bad ones with much pain and clotting. The doctor put me on birth control pills and that helped alot, but there are risks using them. I only took them 2 years and have been fine since. Your doctor would be the one to ask. There are foods and drinks you should avoid and many over the counter meds for the pain. Though I must say its just one of those things we women have to learn to deal with.
P.S. yelling at men hasnt helped....I tried that.

If its your first time having your period that should be normal during the first year. But, if it isn't go see a doctor and ask why you have periods twice a month. A friend of mine also has two periods in a month. She went to see a doctor, and now she only has it once a month.

You should go to the doctor and tell him/her about it. They can give you birthcontrol than will help regulate it and help the cramps stop. If you do not want to go to the doctor try exercising regularly expecially when you are on your peiord it will suck at first but your cramps will feel better. Try to avoid asprin and excendrine they call contain blood thinners which will just cause you to feel like you are bleeding more. If your cramps get really bad just take a hot shower or try a heating pad on your tummy! Hope it gets better!

You can go onto the pill. That way you will only get one period a month and that will help with some of the cramping. Also using a heating pad and a pain killer will help. Also in you excesses that will help relieve cramps.

You seem to be suffering from a menstruation disorder. Its not normal to get periods twice in a month and the cramps are a sign that something is wrong. See a gynaec asap.

Why don't you see your doctor? I was having horrible headaches and I was put on the pill. I haven't had a period since March. I take the pill continiously and don't have a period so I don't have to have those headaches.

Have you talked to your ob/gyn? He can put you on birth control to try and regulate your menstrual cycle. That would be the best thing to do.
