I have given birth to 2 children before and ofcouse it hurts but it a pain very much worth it. I found the worse pain wasn't the labour as that was just tightning and would last for only 30 seconds or so then be over have a rest then again. The birth is more a feeling like you really need to do a poo as its a lot of pressure as the baby moves through the birth cannel. I found the delivery of the head painful as it was a burning sensation as I tore, once that was over then the baby just slid out. I was fine during the labour not worried about drugs but once I knew I was going to tear again I wanted drugs as I hated the tearing burnig feeling. After the baby the placenta comes out much easier then the head.
This is just my experance, Many women find the labour is very overpowering, the contractions can be hard to jandle so thats why the drugs are available. Every women is differant so labour and birth varies from women to women. If its to much then take the drugs, but if you can handle it then whats the use I found that the water birth was enough pain relief for me. When women say that you forget the pain once holding your baby, its not true you forget it you just put it out of your mind as it was worth every single ounce of pain. As I tore and had to be stiched I had ice packs which were condoms filled with water and frozen that numbed the stiches, Salt baths sound painful as salt in the wound normally hurts but its a godsent, enjoy as many salt baths after birth as you can because it make it heal much quicker and it just feels amazing. You go back to normal down there pretty quickly, but while breastfeeding you will feel some differant but not nessarly painful feelings as your uterus cleans itself.
If you relax and go into labour with a positive mind not thinking anyhing negative its much easier on you. Birth is natural and is you creating revaloution, a beautiful baby.
Good luck and best wishes.

I have 4 children and all were delivered normally. The pain felt during labor is so intense that you would not know whether to sit, to lie, to walk or to cry. The contractions make your tummy so hard and your hips feel like it would explode any minute. The pain grows more intense as the delivery of the baby comes near. During those moments, you feel that you cannot go on anymore. You wish that everything would just end. Then with a final push, you feel a sudden relief as the baby's head comes out and the rest of the body follows. Then you hear your baby cry for the first time and get a glimpse of his face and the doctor puts him/her on your stomach and you feel a different kind of warmth, one that nothing in this world can give. Then you say to yourself, all the pain is nothing compared to the happiness that this little angel has given you. This is the miracle of life and you ask if it hurts a lot? I say, NO, it is the best thing that can happen to a woman!

Ive done it twice and Contractions hurt, they feel like someone is squeezing your insides. Unless you have back labor then I couldn't tell ya. Giving birth hurts. It a burning pressure all together. It doesn't hurt that bad or people wouldn't keep doing it, right? Try to imagine something the size of a watermelon coming out the size of a lemon, that's what I was always told. However it really isn't that bad. and they give you good meds if you want them. I didn't use them. If you need an apeasiotomy then you won't feel that either. You may feel the stick from the needle they use to numb you but that's it. The miracle of life is worth all the pain in the world!

everyone that says you won't remember the pain after you see the new baby is full of sh*t. It is the most awful pain you could ever have. It burns, the contractions are terrible! I was in labor for 36 hours.... and had to push for 1 hour. The doctor told me if i didn't get the baby out within the next couple of pushes i'd have to get a c-section. By that time my body was so exhausted a c-section sounded great but somehow my baby FINALLY came out. And then every couple of hours the nurses come push on your belly...ALMOST as bad as the delivery. Get an ephideral....it helps for the most part but I had a "hot spot" they called it where part of my body still felt the pain.

No one said childbirth would be a painless and easy task, if that were the case then practically everyone would have kids lol
From my personal experience, I had a c-section so I dont know how much pain it is to have a vaginal birth but I can tell you that contractions feel a lot like menstral cramps, so if you ever had those, youll know what to somewhat expect. and if you have a csection, you dont feel a thing during the procedure, and afterwards...long as you take it easy and take the medications they give you, youll be just fine. best of luck!

each labour is different.. some women have easy births.. having no pain relief and giving birth within minutes.. where as some women have bad labours.. i have had 3 kids and each one was different, my first was long and painfull.. second was less time but was painfull in the back.. my 3rd was a total different experiance.. i had a placenta abruption (placenta comes away from the womb) which meant having an emergency c setion.. i was put to sleep with that one. but its all worth it in the end.

Yes, I have had 3 children by natural childbirth and it hurts more than I can ever express in words!!!!!
That said I will never forget the sounds of their first cries and once I saw their little faces the pain was so worth it. The joy they give me is worth anything I went through for them in the delivery.

in my experience it hurt like no other pain i know. but i have a relative who has three children and says it was a breeze. i guess it just all depend on your pain tolerance and your child. labor is more like cramps to the 10th power, they were unbareable for me. actual birth was like a monster ripping through my flesh, and from the most tender and sensitive part of my body. its been seven long years now and i still haven't forgotten the pain. but maybe you won't go through that so good luck and happy baby

No two fingerprints are the same just like no two pregnancies are the same.Since a baby is been pushed through your birth canal you WILL feel pain and discomfort. Some people feel a little and some feel a lot.
