I have to disagree with Wanda. If we elect someone, we need to stand behind them. By opposing and dividing the country, we become weak. More nations have been defeated by the nation itself than by outside forces.

Remember the old saying:

"United we stand. Divided we fall."

If being a patriot means blindly allowing a president to carry on an immoral resource war under false pretenses, or raping the economic sector to shift wealth into the fewest hands while economically raping the middle class, or making America the laughing-stock of the world, then I am proud to NOT be a patriot.

Patriotism
means to go out and vote;

"In the United States, voter turnout--the percentage of qualified voters who vote--
often depends on the type of election being held. More people tend to vote in presidential elections than in other kinds.
Even in this case, though, many people who are qualified to vote do not.

In the 2000 presidential election, for example, only 51 percent of the electorate (all qualified voters) turned out. "

It is your patriotic duty to help elect officials sooo go out an vote.

Patriotism at election time means electing the best leaders. In this case it means throwing the do nothing incumbents out and hoping their replacements will do a better job.

That is relative. Patriotism may involve supporting the president, or defensively stopping him when his actions are not democratic

Tony Blair, said it best during a recent interview. He was asked why he respected America so much.
His reply was.
You can always judge the greatness of a country by how many people want in and how many people want out.
And by how many of it's people are willing to die for you.
That has only happened twice.

One by Jesus Christ, who died for your soul.
And the American G.I.s who died for your freedom.

We should remember this when we start to forget
