I suppose your referring to war supporters on this site. I expect 98% of them have not and will not ever serve in the military but have no qualms sending others over there to get killed or damaged in some way. But then what the hell lets fight there rather than here. You'd think we'd at least have attacked the country that most of the 9/11 crew came from.

What answers did you get? I am in Iraq....I talk to Iraqis every day who feel the difference......If you point an AK47 at an Iraqi, they do not respond.......But point a 9mm pistol and watch them run like hell!! Want to know why?.....because Saddam's death squads used pistols to shoot people dead for any reason he felt was a good reason, such as talking to your neighbor about politics, or religion (other than the accepted party religion), or not voting for the Saddam regime on election day.
You are sadly mistaken if you think this country is better off (in the long run) without US intervention. We provide a chance for the possibility of a free Iraq......and THAT my ignorant friend is why the Iraqis I talk to (especially the ones with children) are glad to see Saddam gone. They may not want us here, but they know without our ongoing support, their new found "FREEDOM" will be stripped away by some other Fascist Dictator.

How do you think Governments are built.........It doesn’t happen over night.......George Bush will go down in history as the president who did more for world democracy than any other president in US history......(him & FDR).....20 years from now, look back at your ideas and you will see what I'm talking about.

You speak with displaced Iraqis? Ones who haven't even been here since the war started? That's all I'm saying.

Well, there are a lot of Iraqis who'd come here seeking asylum before the War and they all had only bad to say about their Country and Islam.

They haven't gone back after the War, because they say there are still a lot of Fundamentalists left there and level headed pacifists are still in danger there.

But, generally, everyone of them feel that Iraq is getting a better deal than it then was before.

I know a lot of Muslims won't agree with this, but they are the facts.

Good Question- it raises lots of serious thoughts and other questions of WHY????

First and foremost- Thank you to all the service men and woman whom so bravely serve without regard to the politics of our country and are dedicated to American "home of the Brave and Free" from Germany to Korea. You are all heros!

I don't feel like a "war" is what anyone really wanted. My heart breaks to see so many body bags coming home.

The sadness of watching a beautiful country be destroyed by greed of a civil/cultural war and oil rights. I really believe that "we" Americans really believe the "red, white, blue mentality". Freedom for all.

It is even more frustrating that "the" people of the country are suffering in the middle of it and the "powers" that be can't see that working together to create union would great an extremely powerful Country. Yet, it will take time, they have been repressed for so many generations, {like Cuba} that it will take time for them to understand fully what having the opportunity that democracy can bring to you and your family.

Now- Unrelated to that Iraq infrastructure converstaion.

I do however believe that our current leadership is making a huge mistake by building a fence across Mexico. AS a Native Texan, that is a money move that will start a civil war in his own country.

This is "Smoke and Mirrors" distraction from our own "problems".

Its not the "terrorist" nor immigration issue that he says it is...
Katrina was a "eye opener" of the serious problem of American poor and our lack or commitment to educate and evolve our own. The non-working, non-tax paying second and thrid generation welfare recpicants cost us more money than all the US illegal aliens in the entire country.

Also most of the terrorist actually walked through the front door of the USA... not the back door. Its just the "drug wars" that are happening through the southern borders. We just need much tougher laws to elimnate those people. Its really sad, they are babies diapers, mother's bag's in urterine or stomachs, its horroble price ot pay for freedom.

"We the people" really need these immigrants, they are increasing our wealth. We can afford "made in America" with people that will accept lower hourly wage for the prvilege of american benifits, that is an excellent idea. Soon all of America will be outsourced and what will we do then? If we don't know how to make or do anything? Become Chinese, because they do ?

cannon fodder---in war there are always people that get hurt we can't appease everyone all the time. Democracy for that country is what we are there for. Oh that's right, we need to be assured that nobodies feelings get hurt during a war. Wake up and smell the freedom that our servicemen provide you on a daily basis. That's why you can express your thoughts without any recourse of action from our government and that's what we are trying to give those displaced Iraqis.

I haven't been able to talk to any, but if I did, I think I would ask them what they really thought of Saddam's rule?

You must have taken a poll.
Did you remember to ask the Kurds?
They haven't been slaughtered since we went to war.
