Out law all arms not just guns to have peace.
Just why would that work?
Peace and Freedom comes with a price . That price is from time to time you must stand up and fight for it. Just because you outlaw it here does not mean you will have peace. Arms are just ways the make men more equal in a fight nothing more. If you outlawed them then you will be controlled by the strongest.

Does the slave have peace?

Yes, peace would be great but unfortunately since there are over 6,000,000,000 people on this planet, getting everyone to agree to peace will be hard so there will always be someone attacking someone and arms would be needed for defense.

Also remember when alcohol was banned in the US all that time ago? Alcohol was made anyway. The same would go for weapons.

No and no. Peace comes from people being to damn scared to try anything against you. To scare people you must have arms and be willing to use them. Egos, jealousy, and greed encourage people to try to take more than they need, this will always be so. The right to bare arms gives you the means to keep them in check. If you look at the places that have banned guns, crime goes up. The few places that require you to own a gun have little, if no crime. If you ever decide to take my guns, be prepared to take them one bullet at a time.

That's definitely a loaded, but good question . Yes, is the easy answer, but we should concentrate on a more effective UN, etc so arms r less of a necessity. One day I believe we will be one unified planet , as if we were one country, making decisions based upon what's best for all the citzens of the world.

I believe we need to define and discuss peace first, a first step to wanting it and living it. Maxine Hong Kingston writes of this in her book on peace.

Well, I guess we should start getting choosy.

Look at the fact that people like Osama bin Laden got rich here and then is the guy who's attacking us.

Dang, they're even using our own weapons against us.
