It's hard when you want to kiss... and

There is a minor risk of heavy bleeding if a vein is hit; however, a qualified piercer should have no problem avoiding blood vessels.

Some bleeding is normal, however, if it cannot be controlled, a medical professional should be contacted.

A tongue piercing can also cause suicide disease.

The piercing has a tendency to heal a bit crooked as a result of the frenulum's placement in the exact center of the tongue. This is usually undetectable by anyone except the piercing's owner, but in some cases it can be quite pronounced.

Tooth and gum damage are risks, but they can be minimized by proper placement, the use of properly-sized jewelry, and avoiding playing with the piercing.

A bar that is very large-gauge or too long can greatly increase the risk of chipped teeth or gum erosion, and excessive impacts of the metal against the teeth can cause micro-fractures in the tooth enamel.

Because of the tongue's exceptional natural healing ability, piercings will close very quickly.

It's an awesome idea.

There are some risks to it but if you look after it properly (always follow the piercer's advice and make sure where you get it done is respectable. That means knowing other people who go there and ask them about it- I only get mine done in one place. Nowhere else) it should be fine.

They give you a larger bar at first to accomodate the swelling, which is completely normal. But after a week make sure to get the bar changed to a smaller one, if you don't you could bite on it and chip your teeth

I've had mine done for almost a year now, I love it! No problems, I don't talk with a lisp, I'm not a s*ut, I have no problems kissing, and it looks cute.

Course this only counts if you're over 18. If you're not, don't even think about it.

I have had my tongue pierced for ten years. The actual piercing doesn't hurt too much at the time but your tongue swells afterwards and it is very tender for a few days. During this time it is hard to eat and talk. They recommend no kissing for two weeks! You need to look after the hole and follow the directions they give you to avoid infection. Some people have problems with having chipped teeth as a result but mine have been fine so far. Get it done if that is what you want to do.

When I was a freshman in college I got my tongue pierced. So, what I type is from my personal experience. It really doesn't hurt when they actually are in the piercing process (trust me, I'm a wimp). When I got my tongue pierced, the guy who pierced me told me to buy store brand mouth wash, not name brand. Reason being, the name brand is to strong for your newly pierced tongue. Rinse your mouth out multiple times a day, especially after eating. Eating sucks for the first few days, avoid hot foods (temperature & spice wise). Buy a couple of boxes of popsicles, they are key. When your toung hurts, and it will at times, have a popicle. I would suggest getting yor toung peirced on a friday night, so you have the weekend to feel misrable. Have tylonal or something simular handy at all times. Keep tissues handy for the first few days because you will randomly drool a bit. Don't worrie, your speech will be back to normal in a couple of days. Good-luck :-)

quite, the mouth is the cleanest section for a piercing given which you have enzymes on your saliva that kill micro organism. it variety of looks like it may be services to an infection, notwithstanding it is quite quite complicated to get an contaminated tongue piercing. sparkling it in lots of circumstances and it may be large. in step with risk you are able to desire to attempt to consume very wholesome (lots of uncooked fruit, vegetables, no dairy, little or no meat, no processed meals, etc) for each week or so formerly you get the piercing to spice up your immune gadget. in case you get infections quite, it quite is by way of fact your physique's immune gadget isn't working as nicely wisely. Then once you get the piercing, attempt to drink sparkling smoothies, sparkling veggie broth, and consume egg whites instead of basically ingesting sugary liquids (sugar can postpone healing time besides). i do no longer comprehend the way you consume generally yet a bad immune gadget is maximum in lots of circumstances appropriate to nutritional deficiency.

No, it's not a good idea. The chances of infection are high, it serves no useful purpose, food can get stuck in the hole, it can rip your tongue, etc........Better think about it again, it will be permanent.
