Parts of California are really pretty. Yosemite and the redwood forrests. The rest of it you can keep for yourself. Too crowded. High living costs. Traffice horrible. Too much of the living days are spent on freeways (parking lot)
I like a lot about a lot of states. Pennsylvania and Kentcuky have beautiful farms. Colorado and Utah have beautiful mountains. The south has beautiful Old Plantation houses. Florida has miles and miles of beautiful beaches, although like California, too many people. Maine has a beautiful, but rough sea coast. If you like corn fields, visit the midwest. Grand Canyon in Arizona, Painted desert Arizona, 3 beautiful parks that are entirely different in Utah, one of them spills over into Arizona Monument Valley. Arches National, Zion and Bryce. The Appalacian trail through several states in the East. Yellowstone in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming. The bottom part of the state of Alaska. Beautiful Hawaii. The East side of Washington and Oregon. Niagra falls, New York State. The Lakes, New York State. On and on and on.

For me it would be places like South Carolina and parts of Georgia for the historical value. I am into the era of the 1800's and there are alot of places to visit.

In the 70s I backpacked the whole U.S. (cant do that today, not safe ) every part of our great country is beautiful ,I've lived in Cal.,Ok.,Fl.,Co.,Ky.,Tn.,I'm born and raised a Hoosier and found that after all my adventures I love Indiana , we don't have the mountains or the ocean front ( we do have lake Michigan )our cities are not too big and the rest of the country might think we are a little too country , but we grow good corn and make one helluva R.V. come see for yourself !!!!

California by far. It has such a wide variety of places to see from mountains to beaches and everything in between. Plus no snow in most places in October...like CO.

Oklahoma is great! It's in the crossroads of the USA and there's lots of out of the way places to see, especially if you like history. i.e. Cherokee Indians-End of the Trail of Tears and Will Rogers, etc....
