[ (1/3 - 3) + 1/2 ] / [4/3 + 1/8] = (1/2-2/3)/(35/24) = -4/35
[ (1/3-3) + 1/2 ] / [(4/3 +1/2)/4] = (1/2-2/3)/(11/24) = -4/11

(1/3 - 3) + [(1/2)/(1 1/3)] + (1/2)/4
= (1/3 - 9/3) + (1/2)/(4/3) + 4/2
= -8/3 + (1/2)(3/4) + 2
= (-8/3) + (3/8) + 2
= 2 + (3/8) - (8/3)
= (48/24) + (9/24) - (64/24)
= (48 + 9 - 64)/24
= (57 - 64)/24
= -7/24
