The continent of Africa should be the jewel in the Earth's crown. It's physical features, beaches, coastline, flora and fauna should make it a tourist paradise.

Nigeria itself has the natural resources to make itself the creme de la creme in that continent.

The fact of the matter is that Africa is, with a few notable exceptions, a tourist nightmare, with Nigeria being one of the worst.

Many of its people are in fact very clever, as seen by the amount of accountants you see in the UK. Unfortunately it manifests itself in other ways too, and Nigerian (and Ghanaian) fraudsters proliferate, both in the UK and in Nigeria itself.

According to people I know who have visited Nigeria, including Nigerians, nothing works there without bribery - passport control, customs, any policing matters and government permissions.

The result is that a few get rich and the country itself is poverty stricken. That's Nigeria - that's Africa. The trouble as I see it is that, although Africans have access to 21st century technology and weapons, their culture is in many ways still stuck in what for us were the Middle Ages and, until they get up to speed, the ordinary people of that wonderful continent will always suffer from the greed of their leaders and those in other positions of power.

Nigeria is not one of the richest countriest in the World, though it is in Africa.

Recently, the illegal trade in fraudulent bank details, etc. of Western bank customers exceeded its national pre-tax profit in crude oil!

The Nigerian Government even had the cheek to warn its citizens to be wary, if visiting the United Kingdom, about being ripped off whilst visiting here.

The reason why the majority of Nigerians are in poverty is that those greedy enough to rip us off, are greedy enough not to redistribute wealth amongst their own. As is the case across the whole of Africa. I never give money to charities purporting to help the needy in Africa as I know where it's going.

Such is the nature of Independence.

The dirty old men in office crowned themselves as "The men who would be king" were at loss with who is the Landlord of God's natural assets and who is the "Stranger in strange land" who just came and pssing-by in planet of apes.
The Men who would be king were at loss with a piece of question left behind by our creator with those "Three little words" on "Who are you" for them to come up with an answer vital for their own survival in planet of apes.
While others were living in misery at loss with our creator's universal gifts of life vital for the survival of living human kind on planet earth.
