I'd recommend Round Rock or Eanes ISD for their all-around excellent schooling from K-12. Northwest Austin is very nice and moderate compared to the Westlake and Beecaves areas, and there are very safe neighborhoods with neighborhood country clubs.

There is an old saying in Austin, 'North of the river and west of the I-35". This is less true than is once was, but still isn't a bad guideline.

We have been in the Round Rock district (nw of Austin) since my kids started school and all of their schools have been rated well.

The Eanes Independent School District, living in either Westlake Hills or Rollingwood. Each has its own police department, each is very safe, with somewhat of a homogeneous population. The areas are adjoining 10 -15 minutes from downtown Austin, very convenient. I would raise my children there in a heartbeat.

Lots or most of Austin is nice, you should go there and check it out. I think the school districts have to post all their info online so you could go look at the Austin Independent School District website.

Safest would be West Austin, South Austin, Southwest Austin, Northwest Austin.

The best schools would be in AISD, but located in those areas as well.
