I had two children in my 20's and then was widowed young. I married a man who also had two children and we had one together when I was 42.
I have not regretted having her for one moment - she is a joy. She is now 9 years old and is bright, articulate, funny and a true delight - her four brothers and sisters (who are now in their 20's & 30's) are close to her too.
So, NO, 36 is certainly not too old to start a family - maybe have a check-up with your doctor first though.
Good Luck!

There is nothing wrong with wanting to start a family this late in life. You made the right choice in waiting til you were ready. However, you need to realize that the risk of the baby having "defects" such as Downs Syndrome are higher, but DOES NOT mean that he/she will have it. Talk to an obstetrician about the risks and decide from there. Good luck.

Sometimes it's just the way things happen, I didn't meet my husband until I was 30.
I was 31 when I had my first and 38 my youngest.
Both are very bright, nice people and I thoroughly enjoyed
having them when I did. Gave me a new lease of life
(I also had an excuse to play in the swing park)

i think of 30 is acceptable. it quite is the age that I first married, and retrospectively, i think of that i could desire to have achieved with slightly greater adulthood. I later met the main suitable guy in my existence at 37. clearly the question of young toddlers is your greatest subject, as your unfavorable aspects in being pregnant enhance after 35. it quite is not the top of the international, yet i does no longer individually depart it lots later than 33 to start questioning approximately that. additionally retrospectively, toddlers are not the lovable bundles of exhilaration you think of each and all the time. Spend a while with people's toddlers and attempt 'them on for length'.... greater suitable see if it quite is a few thing you even remotely want formerly you intend your total destiny around their timing. playstation , i comprehend all of it sounds cynical, yet you learn some issues in existence, and am in simple terms sharing.

In this day and age 36 is perfectly normal for becoming a mum. Obviously the risks increase slightly but your doctor will check for these sort of problems.

I know several that waited until they were in their 40s. They had no problems and had more than one child. They enjoy their children more because they planned the right timing and are ready to handle the responsibilities.

Had my daughter at 33; she's a straight-A student and perfectly healthy. My siblings all waited until they were older too, one even until she was 43; all the kids are fine.
