i have cable
i have tried reinstalling windows xp many of times
nuthin will work please help

Your slow internet is not caused by your computer, so you don't need to reinstall Windows. The cause is probably the high internet traffic during certain times. Check whether the time that your internet slow downs corresponds to the peak time where everybody is online.

The net can b slowed down by "bottlenecks" in the system. If the server for the site you're trying to visit is slow, or the site is getting high numbers of hits. Or if you're in an area where lots of people are using the net. Even with cable, if there's alot of traffic going through your provider's server, it can be bogged down.

If you are using a laptop and you are running on battery, your network is bound to slow down. On the other hand it may be that the Traffic on your ISP server is high.
