I'm stuck between FDR and Nixon
People got mad at Nixon because he was caught doing what most other presidents have done, otherwise he was a good president, because among numerous other things, he was able to open relations with china.
But FDR's programs turned the country around and i personally think that it sucks that he died when he could have done so many more things for the US.

The most successful and least hearld is James Polk. Yes, James Polk. Why? He started the westward expansion in this country in the 1850s. Before that Kansas was considered the wild west. When Polk took office, he said the French were leaving Mexico after a brutual war, and that the Mexicans were war weary and would never challenge his expansion to the west. Today, we call California, Colorado, and others states part of the USA thanks to Polk. As far as FDR, this country became a superpower because of him. Yet, he supported the atomic bomb project, One big strike against him.

FDR is by far the most successful President. He was able to win four straight elections, change the number of Supreme Court Justices in order to stack it in his favor, push through sweeping social reforms that last to this day, and on top of it all, hold the country together through war. He might have been one of the worst Presidents for this nation, but no one can say he wasn't successful at manipulating the system to further his dreams of socialism.
