Mine does the same!! I took it back for a new one, and that does exactly the same thing!!!
I too read thats why they brought out the newer range, as the minis had a major fault with the battery - if I was you, I would take it back and demand a nano

There could be a problem with the battery, or maybe the battery has moved inside the Ipod. If it is under warrenty then send it for a check up else if not. you could open it up yourself..

How long have you had it? If it has been a while since you bought it, then it may be time to replace the battery and if it is fairly new contact the manufacturer for a replacement.

here (UK) its a well known problem and many people that i know who bought an ipod when they were new and "in" have since usually shortly after their warrenty expired the battery died switched back over to the mp3 usb memory stick style players

if you believe all the TV reports apparently they really arent that good and they only very rarely work
in queensland on a show called today tonight they done a report making the ipod one of the "top 10 worst electronics"
