My break lights were intmetent when pedal was depressed all the way down. Replced the switch and now no lights. Put back in the old switch and still no lights what so ever. I did not disconnect the battery when I did the orginal swaps. Checked fuses. Did replcing the switch without diconnecting the battery first fry somthing? If so what do I do?

you may have hooked it up wrong or broken the a wire when replacing them. check for a break just after the sild on connector on the wire. You need to get a volt meter, R/S has them for like 39 bucks for a decent one. then this type of troubleshooting would be easy. The fuse would go before a fusable link, so i think your safe there. you should also check the grouding on the tail light assemblies, that could cause that.

check for power to and from the brake light switch. if there is power to and from then you have a bad turn signal switch because the brake lights go through the turn signal switch so it can cancel the appropriate brake light. this is an easy test if you have a 12v test light and a wiring diagram which you can get from your local library
