I can only say what it means to me, if ur interested.
A) I can say sorry and not even mean it, just to shut someone up, in my defense i learned this at an early age being the youngest in a large family, however this brings me to my second part of my answer
B) If im truly sorry then that means il try really hard never to do it again, if im truly sorry then itl hurt me more because i hurt you, seeing the effects of something i did wrong always has a bigger impact on me than the crime, or whatever i did that requires a sorry. .....

The meaning of saying sorry can be the world in the right situation, but shouldn't be overused either.

it means the person is not going to do the thing they did to piss u off before, so thaey are sorrrry. iT ALSO means that if they do, u relize that they are not worth it n dump em before its ttooo late
