Sometimes after a strong emotion or a traumatic event we feel numb in the same way that after a mighty storm a brisk breeze can feel tame.
Just keep on living and sooner or later you begin to realise you have been feeling all along.
Strong emotion is like a drug that feels great but leaves you wanting more. And who wants to die when there is so much more to experience yet.

To see proof that your alive, is to just ask yourself , what are you seeing right now? The answer is , you are seeing what you are feeling. You feel "numb", then that is the moment in which you are seeing at the moment of Now.
The question is wether you want to see somthing different or not.
If you wish to feel different, then you must see somthing else.
Focus your attention on things that are Being happy , and spend time around it. Nature is always happy, the trees dance, the winds sing, the birds glide.
spend time around nature, around things that are just Being.
Then your focus changes to the Peace of Just Being .
Our race is called "Human Beings" for a reason. We are here , Just to Be. We are a Human Being. Just Being a Human.
The description in the name "human being" doesnt describe any other action except being still and silent, which is as quiet as Peace .
It doesnt say " human yelling" or "human working" , it is just "human being".
That is all we have to do.
Just be , still, silent, in an area that is also just being. And you will find Peace.

No.. A person is capable of being aware of his being alive , to the fullest extent, only when he is calm , even silent at mind, yet very alert, receptive, .... when all this happens at a peak level , love is the only thing a person is capable of 'being' (not just feeling.. the whole being as a loving being !).

Consider the question.
The only way that you know that you are alive is when you're dead?
Strong emotion doesn't work that way.

I always know I'm alive; I am so busy with things or busy thinking about what I have to do that there is no escape from knowing.

That depends on the representation and meaning of life, which varies from person to person.
