I have had diorrhea for the past year and half about 2-3 times a week. I had a colonoscopy done and its came back clear. I also had some blood test done which also came back clear. I am 25, male, i smoke and i drink maybe once a week. Anyone experiencing the same issue or have any idea as to what may be causing it let me know because its starting to become a bit of a problem. Thanks :)

You may have an allergy to something that your fond of eating, have you tried dietary fiber to fluff up your intestines? I would suggest eating yogurt every day, this improves the quality of your nutritional intake because of the bacterial process and since it's lactose free is easy to digest. start a journal of what you eat for a month write down everything, also note if you feel anxious, reference this against your loose stools and see if you can determine a pattern in your bodies working that have escaped your notice. Coffee can be a major culprit for some so cut down on the caffeine from all sources till you get a handle on the reason your system is dropping it's nutritional uptake. In the mean time you need to hydrate fully and get more fiber in your diet to help bind up the liquids in your system. Bland foods are recommended for those with ongoing diarrhea, apple sauce, toast, no butter! Peanut butter and cheese are great binders and can help to slow things down a bit but again you might want to consider lactose as one of the possible problems until you get this worked out. I know how very uncomfortable this is so do take care and i hope your much better soon.

A common cause of Diarreah is Salmonela. It makes its way into your food by cross contamination. Many people will, for instance, cut up a chicken for dinner, not sanitize the cutting board properly and then chop up a nice salad, of course laced with the Salmonila that existed on the Chicken. Or many things like Lettuce and Spinach, melons with a rind(esp cantalope) and other vegtables carry Salmonila and Ecoli bacterium. If you don't thoroughly wash all veggies and salad fixings then you put yourself at risk. Always rinse your salad makings faithfully.

One last thing you might be overlooking is the arrangement of your refrigerator. Raw meats should ALWAYS be stored in the bottom drawer of the Refrigerator. Ive seen it a thousand times, raw chicken on the top shelf (leaking of course) and a plate of cooked hamburgers on the middle shelf (catching the chicken juice) and you reach in and grab a pattie and pop it in your mouth. So always store raw on the bottom, cooked on the top.

Finally, add a bowl of Fiber One, Bran cereal or any other high fiber cereal to your breakfast, and eat more fiber rich foods during the day, maybe even add some metamucil or fiber con to your diet to make you regular.

Hope this helped.

It actually sounds like you are constipated, when one has diarrhoea on a constant basis that's what is the cause, I am surprised that a Doctor hasn't picked that up. Take your self to see a specialist and get a second opinion.
You didn't say what your diet consist of, do u have alot of starchy foods with your meals and not enough greens and maybe too much meat as meat takes ages to digest, it actually rots in the stomach be for it is digested.
I am not a specialist but am going on some experience via family members.
cut out starchy foods and dairy products and focus on eating mainly fruit, salads with meat and lots of green with meat use Collie flour instead of potatoes.

i suggest you go to another doctor and ask for a second opinion.diarrhea, last this long, is a sign that something is wrong.
have you tried paying attention to the foods you eat. some foods have a tendency to cause chronic diarrhea.
until you get to see another doctor, try using the over the counter medicines that are designed to alleviate diarrhea.
Best of luck!

Cut back on the things that make that happen. Fiber and fruit. Eat more bananas if you like fruit. Stay away from fatty foods for a while also.

It sounds like IBS or it could be your Gallbladder. Ask your doctor. Also, adjust your diet to cut down on fats, eat more fish and bananas are a natural stool hardener. Good luck.

Have you had a change in diet at all?

Have you started to drink something new?

Have you had some of the actual faeces tested for anything?

Is it possible it could be due to allergies to something new or one you have developed?

Do you get enough fibre in your diet?

I'd think about having pathology done on your poop and allergy testing. And some fibre in your diet if it's lacking.

its probably just IBS. Try to just cut out greasy foods and/or dairy foods, and eat foods high in fiber or take fiber supplements. Alot of the time, alcohol can upset the stomach like that as well, so try to limit yourself to how much you drink at one time and make sure you eat foods that will absorb the alcohol.
